Job Description

As an Engineering Team Lead, you will be at the forefront of our technical endeavors, leading a talented team of engineers in the design, development, and deployment of advanced healthcare solutions. This is a great opportunity for an accomplished and hands-on Engineering Team Lead who can seamlessly blend leadership skills with active technical contributions as a player-coach.

Primary Responsibilities: 

• Design and develop solutions for challenging problems, taking a lead role in initiatives and offering guidance to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Lead and mentor a dedicated engineering team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
• Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Promote and uphold high standards of technical excellence within the team.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, encouraging innovative solutions and best practices.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with all technology teams to ensure seamless integration of software components.
• Conduct regular code reviews to maintain code quality and adherence to coding standards.
• Provide technical guidance to the team, assisting in problem-solving and decision-making.
• Stay aware of industry trends and emerging technologies to inform technical strategy.
• Effectively communicate project updates, challenges, and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Foster a transparent and communicative environment within the engineering team.

• Possesses a hands-on approach, readily delving into coding tasks when the situation demands, ensuring a collaborative and supportive environment.
• Demonstrates a fervent commitment to code quality, instilling a passion for excellence in the development team's output.
• Skilled in documentation, wireframing, and presentation techniques.
• Proficiency in utilizing toolsets to interact with, manipulate, and log into SaaS applications.

Education and Experience: 

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred 
• 5+ years experience designing software and building applications using: 
  • Microservices built in Elixir, connected using GraphQL.
  • React on the frontend (not even a single line jQuery, phew!)
  • Kubernetes on Google Cloud Platform, Docker, Postgres.
  • Github and CircleCI for Development/CD.
  • REST APIs
• Demonstrated experience in mentoring and developing team members.
• Comprehensive expertise in software development methodologies, tools, and industry best practices.
• Extensive experience in healthcare technology, including familiarity with standards such as HL7 and FHIR, reflecting a deep understanding of the industry's intricacies preferred 
• Experience working in an established startup environment is desirable
