The Opportunity:

As the Patient Services Representative for Student Affairs Cougar Health Services, you will provide essential support services for Counseling and Psychological Services. In this role, you will reschedule patient appointments, triage client telephone calls for clinicians, and process new patient paperwork and confidential information.

You will be responsible for maintaining patient records in Point and Click (PNC) and for providing general information about Counseling and Psychological Services to patients, faculty, staff, students, and the public, including details about available services and select policies and procedures.

Additional Information:

This is a full (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.

Monthly Salary: $3,417 to $4,542 | Range 38 Steps A - M | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.

In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of general office experience or one year of office or customer service experience in a healthcare setting; OR equivalent education/experience.

  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office applications, such as Word, Excel, Outlook and/or Access.

  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated strong customer service skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of medical terminology.

  • Knowledge and use of Electronic Health Records.

  • Documented on-the-job experience in a mental health or medical clinic.

  • Experience working with or knowledge of the RCW (chapter 70.02) and the HIPAA of 1996 and FERPA, pertaining to the release of protected health information.
