The company is currently seeking an experienced Sr. Information Security Engineer.

 

Position Summary/ Primary Purpose

The Senior Information Security Engineer will be responsible for managing and enhancing the organization’s network security infrastructure, ensuring secure cloud deployments, and protecting critical systems from cyber threats.  The ideal candidate will leverage expertise in both traditional network security and Azure Cloud security to design, implement, and maintain robust security measures.  This position works closely with our infrastructure and applications teams daily to fulfill the organization’s IT security needs. This role is expected to be fully aware of the enterprise’s security goals as established by its stated policies, procedures, and guidelines and to actively work towards upholding those goals.

Responsibilities

Major Areas of Responsibility

  • Plan, implement, manage, monitor, and upgrade security measures to protect the organization’s data, systems and networks.
  • Design, implement, and maintain network security architecture, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS systems, and other security appliances.
  • Perform regular network vulnerability assessments, risk analysis, and remediation activities.
  • Ensure the organization's network security policies and standards are in line with best practices and regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., PCI-DSS, HIPAA, GDPR).
  • Design and implement security solutions for cloud-based infrastructure in Microsoft Azure, including securing Azure Virtual Networks, Azure Security Center, and Azure Firewall.
  • Develop and enforce cloud security policies, ensuring proper Identity and Access Management (IAM) practices, such as role-based access control (RBAC) and least privilege.
  • Conduct regular security assessments of corporate computing environments and integrate automated security controls into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Implement and maintain security systems and tools for cloud security monitoring and incident response.
  • Lead investigations into security incidents, perform root cause analysis, and mitigate security breaches.
  • Collaborate with the incident response team to provide support for security events and maintain the integrity of network systems.
  • Work closely with internal teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex security issues, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to business operations.
  • Monitor network traffic, system logs, and security alerts to detect, analyze, and respond to security threats in a timely manner.
  • Produce regular security reports and metrics to senior management, ensuring clear communication of the network’s security posture.
  • Continuously evaluate security tools and services to enhance monitoring, prevention, and detection capabilities.

Knowledge

  • Extensive experience working with Microsoft Azure cloud services, including Azure Security Center, Azure Active Directory, Azure Firewall, Azure Sentinel, and Azure Networking.
  • Hands-on experience with security solutions like firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, SIEM systems, endpoint protection, and anti-malware tools.
  • Proficiency in network protocols, routing, switching, and firewall configurations.
  • Solid experience with security monitoring, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing.
  • In-depth knowledge of network security technologies and tools (firewalls, VPN, IDS/IPS, DLP, etc.).
  • Expertise in cloud security architecture, design, and best practices, particularly for Microsoft Azure.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation and security operations.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) tools like Splunk, Azure Sentinel, or similar platforms
