Responsibilities Shamrock Trading Corporation is looking for a Director, Software Engineering to join our Payment Solutions Engineering team. Director, Software Engineering will be responsible for the overall development of software for specified business units under the Shamrock umbrella.Incumbents work closely with Business Leads, Product Owners and Senior Management to coordinate software engineering team tasks within projects. You will play a l eading role in managing the delivery of large cross-functional Fintech projects. This position will collaborate to define core business objectives in order to deliver the best product with the most efficient use of company resources. You will actively mentor more managers, Engineering Leads and members of the team, improving their skills, their knowledge of our systems and their ability to get things done.
- Leadership and mentoring to the payment solutions development team, including software architecture approach and design. (50%) Responsible for the overall Fintech application design.
- Serves as expert in all aspects of designing and application development
- Coordinates work teams
- Provides technical support and mentoring to project team members
- Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the Fintech field's concepts, practices, and procedures
- Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Prototyping, proving in and justifying new technologies. Actively investigating and innovating on new technology solutions to solve business problems
- Technical project management for multiple, complex development projects. (20%)
- Provide consultation on complex projects and is considered to be the top -level contributor/specialist. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
- Estimates and recommends project resource allocations to resource manager
- Development responsibilities on multiple complex projects. (30%)
- Consults with end users to test and debug applications to meet client needs
- Designs, modifies, develops, writes and implements software programming applications/operating systems
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field.
- 8+ years’ experience of software development and deployment of distributed multi-tier applications
- 3+ years’ experience managing agile software projects across multiple distributed teams
- Be able to thrive in an ambiguous environment – where change is the only constant
- Detailed oriented to ensure that project success is paramount
- Deep expertise in payment solutions, specifically including bank payment rails such as ACH, Fed wires, RTP, Fed Now, and/or API Payment Integrations
- Proven expertise building high-volume transactional processing and cloud first/native distributed systems
- Strong communication and ability to align with different stakeholders
- Analytical skills & self-starter with the ability to work in a very fast-paced environment
- Results-oriented with a strong customer focus
