Join us at Cork Innovative Medicine! We're looking for a passionate and proactive leader to oversee our wastewater treatment operations. If you're ready to make a real environmental difference, lead a talented team, and drive sustainable practices, then this is your chance! We celebrate diversity and are committed to providing an inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive. We also offer accommodations to support your success.

About the role:

As the Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) Team Lead, you’ll be at the heart of our efforts to keep Cork Bio’s operations running smoothly, safely, and sustainably. You’ll be responsible for guiding daily plant activities, ensuring compliance with Irish environmental standards, and pushing for continuous improvements. You’ll lead a dedicated mix of insourced staff and contracted vendors, champion safety, and foster innovation. Your work will directly contribute to our mission of protecting the environment and delivering top-tier biological processes!

What you'll do:

You’ll supervise and energize the day-to-day operations and maintenance of our wastewater treatment processes. Your expertise will ensure everything runs efficiently, reliably, and in full compliance. You’ll be the go-to troubleshooter—quickly diagnosing issues and implementing effective solutions.

Leading a team of skilled professionals, you’ll mentor, support, and grow their skills. You’ll stay ahead of the regulatory game, keeping detailed and accurate records for audits and reports. Safeguarding our people and the environment, you'll promote a safety-first culture, investigate incidents thoroughly, and implement preventative measures. Plus, you’ll adopt and champion sustainable wastewater practices, reducing environmental impact with every step.

Innovation is key—you’ll drive process enhancements, embrace new technologies, and explore smarter ways to operate more efficiently and cost-effectively. Your collaborative approach will foster open communication with internal teams, regulators, community stakeholders, and contractors, keeping everyone informed and engaged.

What we're looking for:

You’ll bring a bachelor’s degree in Environmental or Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related area, along with at least 5 years’ hands-on wastewater treatment experience—including 2 years in a leadership role. Familiarity with Irish environmental standards is a must!

Your technical skills should include a thorough understanding of wastewater treatment processes, instrumentation, and control systems, with the ability to analyze data and recommend improvements. Proficiency in MS Office and plant control systems is essential.

Strong leadership and communication skills are vital—you know how to motivate teams, resolve problems efficiently, and make sound decisions. A passion for safety, environmental integrity, and continuous learning drives your work ethic.
