We are recruiting for a Product Manager, Principal Data Scientist within the Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine R&D Data Science organization. The primary location for this position is Madrid with consideration for applicants in Barcelona.

In this role, you will:

Partner closely with members of the Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine R&D data science organization and other business teams to understand the organization's business needs and translate them into functional digital solutions.

You will be responsible for the delivery of engaging and innovative digital products to embed data and analytics into the decision-making process. You will partner with teams across R&D such as Data Science, J&J Technology, Clinical Operations, the Therapeutic Areas, and Strategy & Portfolio to deliver innovative solutions for study teams' most impactful questions.

  • Apply design thinking methods to engage with users, integrating their feedback into innovative solutions.

  • Build journey maps, storyboards, and wireframes/prototypes to bring clarity and alignment. Document business processes to serve as a reference for development.

  • Develop use cases, write, manage, and clarify JIRA user stories and process flows that drive product development.

  • Shape and communicate product roadmap, priorities, and design rationale to business partners, developers, and testers.

Qualifications

Education:

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably with a major in Data Science, Life Sciences, or related field.

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • Knowledge and understanding of Pharma R&D, portfolio/pipeline management, and Clinical Trial Operations.

  • Experience running product backlog/release planning, tracking metrics, attending product team ceremonies, and removing blockers.

  • Experience with Figma, or similar tool, for wireframe and prototype development.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions.

  • Experience using Agile methodologies for product development. Proficiency in Agile tools (JIRA, Confluence) for backlog and requirement management.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with desire to learn.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced role and interacting with many collaborators.

  • Able to run multiple workstreams and handle changing priorities.

Preferred:

  • Experience as a product owner or product analyst in the Life Sciences space
