Product Designer - Football / American Football
TrackManAbout the role
A rare opportunity for someone who loves football, tech, and design
We're a team of around 20 design geeks from Canada, Mexico, Australia, England, Latvia, Slovakia, Ireland, New Zealand and Denmark who have fun and challenge each other every day in delivering the best digital products.
The opportunity
If you love football, live for great design, and get excited about translating real-world performance into meaningful digital experiences - this one's for you. We're looking for a curious and ambitious Product Designer to join our Football and American Football team at Trackman.
You'll work closely with experienced designers, developers, and product owners to shape tools used by some of the best players and coaches in the world. Your work directly impacts how athletes track performance, make sense of data, and improve their game.
This role has a particular emphasis on rapid concepting and prototyping. You'll regularly be involved in turning early ideas into tangible, testable prototypes - and then taking those into real football environments to validate them. If you thrive on moving fast, learning from real users in the field, and iterating with purpose, this is the kind of design work that's hard to find anywhere else. You can explore the product you'll be designing for at trackman.com/football & https://www.trackman.com/us-football
Role overview
As a Product Designer on the Football team, you'll be involved across the full design lifecycle - from early ideation and concept exploration, through prototyping and field validation, to delivering polished, high-fidelity interfaces. You'll collaborate closely with product owners, developers, and fellow designers, contributing to both the end-user experience and our wider design system.
A big part of this role is getting ideas out fast and getting them tested. That means sketching and wireframing quickly, building prototypes that feel real enough to put in front of coaches and players, and being comfortable taking your work out of the office and into the field.
Requirements
A minimum of 4 years of product design experience (not including university projects). Your knowledge should span the full product design lifecycle, including ideation, facilitation, conceptualization, validation/testing, and visual design.
Strong prototyping skills - you're comfortable moving from rough concept to interactive prototype quickly, and you use prototypes as a tool for learning, not just presentation.
Strong visual communication and UI design skills, turning complex information into clear, intuitive interfaces, and working confidently within design systems.
Strong communication skills - you can articulate ideas and design decisions clearly, and you proactively seek and incorporate feedback.
Experience thriving in agile environments with changing priorities, where flexibility and adaptability are key.
Collaboration skills - you enjoy working in a team, co-designing with others, and giving/receiving constructive feedback.
A portfolio or case studies showcasing your craft, creativity, and impactful work on relevant projects.
Nice to have:
A genuine interest in football or American football - knowledge of the sport is a real asset in this role.
Experience running or contributing to user research, and translating insights into design decisions.
Experience with data-heavy products or visualizing performance data.
Comfortable working with product data and metrics to evaluate the impact of your work.
You'll get:
Being part of a design team of around 20 colleagues, with design critiques, cross-product sparring and plenty of chances to learn from others.
A rare opportunity to design products tested in real sporting environments - working directly with players and coaches.
Opportunities to grow your craft in a sports-tech environment where we ship both physical and digital experiences used by athletes and fans worldwide.
