Supply Chain and Warehouse Manager

INFORMATION

Type of Position: Exempt

Location of Work: Juneau, AK

Salary Grade(s): 12-13 ($78,526.50+ DOE/Annually)

PURPOSE

The Supply Chain and Warehouse Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the warehouse operations, supply chain and logistics for the Tribal Government. This role will involve coordinating the storage, distribution, and inventory management of goods and materials to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations. The Supply Chain and Warehouse Manager will work closely with the Contracts Manager, who oversees the procurement and buyers, to ensure seamless coordination and collaboration between the two departments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness in warehouse operations.
  • Manage inventory levels and ensure timely storage and distribution of goods and materials.
  • Coordinate with the Contracts Manager to align supply chain activities with procurement strategies.
  • Oversee warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, and distributing goods.
  • Implement inventory control measures to minimize waste and ensure accurate stock levels.
  • Monitor and analyze supply chain performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Contracts Manager and other departments to ensure seamless coordination of supply chain activities.
  • Ensure compliance with tribal government policies and regulations related to warehouse operations.
  • Supervise and train warehouse and logistics staff to ensure efficient and safe operations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to support supply chain objectives.

NECESSARY SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Proven experience in supply chain management, warehouse operations, logistics or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience Supervising others
  • Knowledge of tribal government policies and regulations is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Able to operate heavy equipment including an L90 loader, 844 Telehandler and forklifts
  • Able to operate hand and power tools
  • Ability to use good judgment when making decisions within the scope of authority
  • Mechanical aptitude necessary to determine plan of action in emergency situations

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (education, experience, skills)

  • Bachelor’s degree in closely related field
  • 2 years’ experience in related field
  • Substitution for degree
  • High School Diploma or GED and
  • 5 years’ experience in closely related field

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (education, experience, skills)

  • Certification in supply chain management or logistics is a plus.

UNUSUAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OR RESTRICTIONS

The majority of this work requires frequent walking, standing, bending, and carrying of items weighing more than 50lbs on concrete floors.
