The Role: 

We are looking for a leader to scale our IT organization in line with our business growth. Verkada has doubled headcount in the last two years to over 1800+ employees, and this leader will position us to double and double again.  Reporting to the CFO, the ideal candidate has experience managing corporate IT operations/support, networking, security, and developing business applications in support of a wide variety of users. 

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver world class IT operations: We take pride in maintaining an incredibly talented group of operations engineers and delivering world class NPS to users (it currently stands at an 88). This starts from the day they accept their offer to offboarding. The team consists of ~10 individuals spread around our 15+ offices around the world
• Set direction and build out systems infrastructure: this includes managing senior IT engineers in three areas - a) business systems, b) corporate information security, and c) networking.
• Build custom applications to support business use cases: work across People, Finance, PR, Legal and other corporate function to develop workflows and custom applications that meet their needs
• Recruit the best talent: we hire for smart generalist IT skills and ensure that the talent is able to solve a wide range of problems (not simply escalate it up the tier 2/3/etc chain)
• Get sh*t done: since we’re still in scrappy startup mode, there’s a lot of rolling up your sleeves and getting into the weeds to drive direct impact on a daily basis. We knock out today’s problems while also balancing our need to build for the long-term. 

Qualifications 

• Experience: 10+ years managing corporate IT in a high growth technology business, including a global expansion outside the U.S.
• Application relevance: Proven and current experience managing an expansive, cross functional business application portfolio which includes: Okta, G Suite, Slack, Kandji, among others
• Structured thinking and communication: we are open to do things differently at Verkada rather than copy other systems. You need to be able think about solutions in a logical way and influence a broad base of executives to succeed
• Excellent analytics skills: you have a data-driven mentality;  you are excited to dig through data to drive evidence-based discussions and decision-making
• Flexibility: you are comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment that will require you to manage competing priorities, pivot quickly and often, mentor brilliant (but inexperienced) talent junior in their career, and build new processes as the company scales.
