Job Title: Chief Project Engineer
Location: Arnold AFB, TN (On-Site)
Canvas is seeking a Chief Project Engineer (Hypersonics) to support the AF on the TMAS II contract at Arnold AFB in Tennessee. The Air Force's developmental test agency for air-to-air, air-to-surface, direct-fire, and advanced munitions. This position is to provide assistance and advisory services to the DoD.
Duties:
- Oversee project, including ensuring they are on time, on budget, and meet quality standards.
- Lead engineering teams, assign tasks, and train and support new staff.
- Resolve disputes between team members.
- Communicate project goals to project team and ensure they are understood and carried out.
- Approve plans and designs, and ensure they are safe and meet AF requirements and standards.
- Plan and schedule: Working with the team to develop a project plan and schedule and assigning tasks.
- Solve technical problems: Analyze the cause of problems and developing solutions.
- Ensure quality and safety: Ensure the project meets technical specifications and safety and quality standards.
- Coordinate with stakeholders: Interact with clients to understand their needs and wants.
- Mentor project teams: Assign responsibilities and mentor project team members.
- Provide technical support: Cooperate with the project manager and other project participants to provide technical support.
- Conduct site inspections: Supervise the work of contractors and engineers, and conduct site inspections.
Requirements:
- Subject Matter Expert in Arc Heater Testing
- Working knowledge of Hypersonic weapon systems; USAF, USN, or Marines fighter/bomber tactics and weapons employment.
- Prior experience in hypersonic developmental weapons, and/or operational testing is highly desired
- Aircrew experience desired.
Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
