BGS is seeking F-15E Simulator Technician III / Site Lead to support the local Contractor Logistic Support (CLS) effort for the eight F-15E Integrated Aircrew Trainers (IAT) at Seymour Johnson AFB, North Carolina. The F-15E is a constantly evolving and strategically vital component of the USAF Strike Capabilities. The IATs are where aircrews get their first introduction to the formidable legacy and combat potentiality of the F-15E Strike Eagle.

The Simulator Technician will be responsible for operating and maintaining the IATs to support daily Air Force Aircrew training. As Site Lead, the Simulator Technician III will lead the CLS team to apply an analytical approach to solving complex hardware and software discrepancies and maintain the IATs at a 95% availability metric.  Technicians will interpret real world cockpit operations of the F-15E in a simulated environment and apply that intricate cockpit knowledge into the architectural engineering design of the IAT to address and remedy system malfunctions.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Tech III / Site Lead is the primary technician responsible for but not limited to all operations as defined in the Performance Work Statement (PWS) and the oversight of its implementation by all team members.
  • Leads the team with a positive, reinforcing, professional attitude, indicative of an experienced, tenured technician, ensuring the team is cohesive, trained, and compliant with all contractual CLS requirements.
  • Diagnoses and remedies complex issues through analytical thinking, understanding of architectural theory of operation, with no supervision
  • Conducts daily preflight inspections by flying simulated mission to ensure readiness of all flight components and sensors confirming equipment integrity and readiness for flight training
  • Prioritizes daily maintenance and site operations to achieve maximum availability of the trainers to the customer
  • Repairs, tests, installs, configures, upgrades and assists in the modification to the simulators.
  • Provide real time support to Instructors / Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Aircrew in all operational facets of the IAT during setup and execution of training missions.
  • Performs network (managed switches) troubleshooting and maintenance
  • Creates, maintains, and troubleshoots device user accounts using "Active Directory" to ensure their function and availability to the customer
  • Performs preventive maintenance and periodic inspections
  • Customer oriented and able to positively interact with and promote workplace relationships within a diverse population of driven, motivated, and experienced professionals within the military aviation community
  • Applies knowledge of Fighter Combat Tactics, assisting SME's with building and maintaining simulator missions with Scenario Generation Tool
  • Performs additional duties such as maintaining software, hardware, and "spares" databases.
  • Collects metrics, formulates monthly availability and utilization reports and submits at scheduled intervals
  • Follows all local Site Security Protocols to ensure the protection of assets and prevention of mission related disclosures

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 6+ years’ experience in aircraft flight simulator training device maintenance, or experience in aircraft avionics / electronics or computer network and information systems
  • Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance with U.S. citizenship
  • Ability to obtain access to Special Access Program (SAP)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related work experience
  • CompTIA A+, Network + and/or Security + Certifications (DoD 8140 equivalent certifications)
  • Experience with Cisco switches, Microsoft Windows Server 2019, Windows 10, Linux
  • Familiarization with F-15E Cockpit and principles of flig
