Key job responsibilities
• Lead a dynamic team of 6 - 10 Account Executives dedicated to maximizing growth within the B2B Enterprise segment of Public Sector. Drive exceptional performance through data-driven leadership, establishing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) while orchestrating strategic revenue-generating activities. Architect and implement sophisticated, industry-specific go-to-market strategies that leverage market intelligence, competitive analysis, and customer insights to capture new business opportunities and deepen existing account penetration.
• Champion a metrics-driven culture focused on achieving quantifiable outcomes, including pipeline development, account expansion, and revenue acceleration. Utilize advanced analytics and market trends to continuously refine targeting strategies, optimize sales processes, and identify high-potential growth opportunities across diverse government verticals.
• Take ownership of Education verticals within Public Sector to be a leading expert with its supply chain practices, needs, and opportunities.
• Drive end-to-end talent acquisition strategies to build and maintain a best-in-class sales organization, including defining ideal candidate profiles, sourcing top-tier talent, and executing rigorous interview processes.
• Develop and nurture Account Executives as they improve their skills, processes, and tools to effectively prospect, present, close, and grow adoption of Amazon Business. Participate in customer meetings to support Account Executives as they work with their customers. Represent the Voice of Customer by working cross-functionally with marketing, sales operations, professional services, and product/tech. The ideal candidate will have B2B sales and management experience including identifying, developing, negotiating, and closing large scale deals.

About the team
The Amazon Business for Education team is dedicated to developing solutions inclusive of an expanded online store that combines the selection, convenience, and value customers have come to know and love from Amazon, with new features and unique benefits tailored to customers in the Higher Education sector. The ideal candidate will have relevant Higher Education consultative sales experience and have a proven track record of meeting and exceeding program goals and revenue targets.

Basic Qualifications


• BA/BS or equivalent
• 5+ years of sales experience
• 3 + years of management experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products and applications, CRMs (e.g. Salesforce.com), sales and marketing automation tools, and eLearning tools
• Experience analyzing data and best practices to assess performance drivers
• Experience hiring and leading sales or account management teams focused on acquiring and managing existing customers

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA preferred
• 8+ years of management experience
• Experience conversing with senior customer stakeholders including C-Suite, VPs, and Directors
• Experience selling to large, medium and small Public Sector agencies and successfully delivering multi-million dollar sales quotas.
