Job Description
AECOM has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Environmental Engineer to join our Remediation team in our New York City office. You will work with a diverse team of technical leaders within our Environment business across a broad range of practice areas delivering remediation consulting services to our key clients.
The successful candidate will be committed to the team’s success and growth; will develop new business; will rigorously apply safety policies and procedures; will manage the technical, cost and schedule elements of project delivery; and will effectively manage the quality of field efforts and project deliverables within the bounds of the AECOM Quality Management System.

The job responsibilities of this position will include, but are not limited to:
Work collaboratively with the NY/NJ Remediation Area Manager and other teams within the Environment Remediation department, and professionals within other AECOM internal business lines.
Develop new business, including marketing and proposing to potential and existing clients, and be integral in the process of securing and managing clients and contracts.
Act as Project Manager on large, complex projects, responsible for technical delivery, schedule management, fiscal management, client liaison, reporting requirements, and coordination with project team members.
Coordinate and prepare written reports, work plans, and technical memorandums; analyze data and develop supported conclusions.
Proactively identify opportunities to increase project efficiencies, improve technical methodologies and add value to client service offerings.
Assist with development of junior staff through ongoing mentoring.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA/BS in Civil, Environmental, & Chemical Engineering or related field + 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Valid U.S Driver’s License
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in New York and/or New Jersey
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 9+ years of experience in an environmental engineering consulting company along with experience in Environmental investigations and site remediation
- Experience with CERCLA and RCRA remediation programs at complex sites
- Understanding of AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, Bluebeam)
- Seller-doer with business development and client management experience.
- Experience as a project manager and technical lead on feasibility studies, remedial design, and remedial action oversight, including experience with design and construction of dredging and capping projects.
- Strong understanding of remediation design, cost estimating and construction.
- Experience with the breadth of federal and local environmental laws, such as CERCLA, RCRA, TSCA, etc

- Exempt Position: Offered rate of compensation (NY locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $140,000 - $170,000.
