Our Senior Manager, Project Development is responsible for driving the development process and laying the groundwork for a successful engineering design and sale. This includes qualifying project feasibility based on energy savings, project paybacks, customer needs, and applicable procurement and funding methods. This role will support the sales, engineering, and project management teams, and will involve extensive collaboration between both internal team members and customers. The Senior Manager, Project Development will also coordinate with performance assurance teams, including the EnergyIQ (EIQ) team and renewable system operations and maintenance (O&M) teams with utility data analytics and contracts ensuring ongoing performance.
As a Senior Manager, Project Development, you will be the vital link between the sales team and engineering team and be a resource and mentor to other members on the development team. You will be the customer-facing technical expert and the driver behind developing quality projects. This position will work with sales, engineering, project management, and performance assurance (EIQ and O&M) teams to provide excellent service and results for our clients. Time requirements for each role will be dependent on work loading and available resources. This role is based in Southern California and will be a hybrid role.
Target Salary: $130,000- $160,000+ depending on experience.
Senior Manager, Project Development Responsibilities:
• Drive the development process internally to ensure that projects are well qualified prior to detailed engineering design, scope and pricing
• Identify financing opportunities and assist sales with funding sources and procurement paths
• Meet and coordinate with the sales team on identifying potential energy efficiency measures (EEMs)
• Meet and coordinate with the engineering team to ensure project timelines are feasible and understood by all stakeholders
• Track activities and action items of projects within internal tracking platforms and ensure project deliverables meet deadlines
• Meet with customers and clearly communicate our process for working together
• Perform preliminary project site walks to identify EEMs and provide a unique solution customized to customer needs
• Coordinate with sales team to develop preliminary project pricing and cashflow analyses
• Provide technical expertise during sales’ presentations and meetings with customers
• Coordinate with customer representatives and utilities to gather billing and energy data to develop energy utility analyses to qualify project feasibility and customer fit
• Review project scopes and estimates to ensure they are meeting both the customers’ and SitelogIQ’s expectations
• Guide salespeople on relaying project specifics to customers in cases where delays or complications may arise
• Collaborate with post-installation teams (EIQ and O&M) on data analytics, furthering customer relations, and developing potential projects
• Innovate new ways to expand on and improve the development process through consistent communication with the other members of the development team
• Provide guidance to and mentor other less experienced members of the development team
• Participate in sales and industry conferences, events, and customer interactions
Senior Manager, Project Development Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science degree in STEM related field or its equivalent work experience
• 5+ years’ experience in energy industry
• Experience presenting to a variety of audiences including small and large groups
• Ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment with changing and/or competing priorities
• Valid California driver's license and clean driving record
• Fluent with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint programs
• High proficiency in EEM savings calculations
• Knowledge of building operations and/or energy consuming equipment
• Familiarity with utilities, energy efficiency, distributed energy generation, and energy storage
Preferred Qualifications:
• Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or similar
• Professional Engineer (PE) in California
