Emergency Veterinary Technician

We are seeking a dedicated Emergency Veterinary Technician to join our overnight team at Emergency Pet Care of Texas (EPCT). In this critical role, you will support our practitioners, uphold the highest standards of patient care, and enhance the efficiency of our medical team. As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will play an integral part in our operations by performing technical tasks and managing administrative responsibilities, enabling our practitioners to focus on delivering exceptional medical care.
Compensation:
- $23-$28 hourly, based on experience
- + $$overnight differential
- Full Time (3 x 12 hour shifts)
- Days: TBD
Patient Care and Assistance:
- Restrain pets, prepare/administer medications, and assist in exams, procedures, and surgeries.
- Monitor anesthesia, provide supportive therapy, and teach clients how to administer treatments.
- Prepare patients for discharge and communicate status updates to the care team and clients.
- Record patient histories, treatments, and procedures accurately for invoicing and records.
- Complete necessary paperwork and maintain detailed progress notes.
- Schedule procedures, relay accurate information to clients, and seek help when needed.
- Perform lab procedures and collect/prep samples for analysis.
- Operate and maintain radiography units and diagnostic software.
- Maintain and report issues with medical equipment; restock and manage supplies.
- Clean and sterilize instruments, maintain hospital cleanliness, and assist with patient hygiene.
- Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVT) or Experienced Veterinary Technicians with at least 3 years of Emergency experience, dedicated to providing outstanding client service and excellent patient care.
- Prior experience in Emergency and Critical Care is required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus!
