A Day in the Life
The Machine Repair Mechanic II supports manufacturing operations at the Warsaw, IN site by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment used in orthopedic medical device manufacturing. This role is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on a variety of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to ensure equipment reliability, product quality, and minimal production downtime.Working within a regulated medical device manufacturing environment, the technician follows established procedures and safety standards while partnering with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams to resolve equipment issues and support continuous improvement efforts. The Machine Repair Mechanic II is expected to independently diagnose common equipment failures, perform routine maintenance activities, and contribute to maintaining a safe and compliant production environment.
This position plays an important role in sustaining production performance by responding to equipment issues in a timely manner, maintaining accurate maintenance documentation, and supporting equipment upgrades, installations, and process improvements when required.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Performs installation, maintenance, and repairs on line manufacturing or plant equipment.
- Locates and diagnoses failures, replaces defective components, and performs basic troubleshooting using standard electronic equipment, detailed drawings, diagrams, sketches, specifications, prints, manuals, and verbal and/or written instructions.
- Maintains appropriate maintenance and repair logs.
- Uses a variety of hand, power, and test tools and equipment.
- May redesign optical, vacuum, electrical, electronic, or mechanical systems for incorporation on existing manufacturing equipment.
- May estimate labor and equipment costs and prepare requisitions as required.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Requires a 1+ years of relevant technical experience, which may include a combination of practical experience and applicable training, education, or certification.

- Experience supporting manufacturing equipment in a regulated industry such as medical device, pharmaceutical, or aerospace manufacturing.
- Working knowledge of electro‑mechanical systems, including motors, sensors, conveyors, pneumatic components, and hydraulic systems.
- Basic familiarity with PLC‑controlled equipment, including the ability to identify I/O issues and assist with troubleshooting alongside engineering or controls specialists.
- Experience performing preventive maintenance and work order documentation in a CMMS system.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and equipment manuals.
- Exposure to CNC machining, grinding, polishing, laser processing, or automated manufacturing equipment commonly used in orthopedic manufacturing.
- Experience assisting with equipment installations, upgrades, or production line improvements.
- Familiarity with GMP, quality system requirements, and safety practices in a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Exposure to basic root cause troubleshooting methods such as 5 Whys or cause‑and‑effect analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with manufacturing operators, engineers, and maintenance technicians to resolve equipment
