Mechanical Engineer (GovCon Manufacturing Experience)

About the Role:
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer with experience in the Government Contracting (GovCon) manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SolidWorks and will play a key role in designing, developing, and improving mechanical components and systems in line with defense and aerospace manufacturing standards. Responsibilities:

• Design and Development: Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks for mechanical systems, components, and assemblies, ensuring compliance with industry and government standards.
• Prototyping and Testing: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prototype, test, and validate new mechanical designs, ensuring that products meet quality, reliability, and safety requirements.
• Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines, budgets, and project specifications, while ensuring compliance with applicable government regulations.
• Collaboration: Work closely with procurement, production, and quality teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-effective while meeting contractual obligations.
• Documentation and Compliance: Prepare technical documentation, including drawings, bill of materials (BOMs), and engineering change orders (ECOs). Ensure all designs meet government and regulatory compliance standards.
• Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve design and manufacturing issues, working closely with the production team to ensure smooth and efficient manufacturing processes.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve designs, processes, and systems to enhance efficiency and reduce costs in production.
