Responsibilities:
- Design and Development: Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks for mechanical systems, components, and assemblies, ensuring compliance with industry and government standards.
- Prototyping and Testing: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prototype, test, and validate new mechanical designs, ensuring that products meet quality, reliability, and safety requirements.
- Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines, budgets, and project specifications, while ensuring compliance with applicable government regulations.
- Collaboration: Work closely with procurement, production, and quality teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-effective while meeting contractual obligations.
- Documentation and Compliance: Prepare technical documentation, including drawings, bill of materials (BOMs), and engineering change orders (ECOs). Ensure all designs meet government and regulatory compliance standards.
- Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve design and manufacturing issues, working closely with the production team to ensure smooth and efficient manufacturing processes.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve designs, processes, and systems to enhance efficiency and reduce costs in production.
