Senior DBA & Site Reliability Engineer

Oracle is looking for a Senior DBA & Site Reliability Engineer with world-class experience in supporting large scale cloud deployments and deploying business continuity solutions across the world. The candidate should have expert level knowledge of Oracle DB Administration, Data Engineering, DB replication functionality and enterprise application management.

Responsibilities    
•    Establish and enforce data design and data modeling principles and practices 
•    Optimize and support Database performance and scalability
•    Desing, establish and improve data pipelines efficiency and observability
•    Develop and deploy Business Continuity Solutions across the hosted regions.
•    Engineer solutions so that services are compliant and meet/exceed the service level agreements.
•    Resolve the service disruptions, execute planned maintenances and conduct trainings across the teams.
•    Collaborate with various teams during Service outages, capacity expansion, infrastructure maintenance as well as ensure adherence to production deployment standards.
•    Implement best practices for monitoring, logging, and alerting to proactively identify and address potential issues before they impact users.
•    Understand and communicate the scale, capacity, security, performance attributes, and requirements of the service and technology stack.

Qualifications
•    5+ years of Production support experience with Oracle database, and expertise with Oracle’s RAC, ASM and RMAN as a core DBA
•    Hands-on Platform Engineering, Data Engineering, Data modeling and SRE experience
•    Expert level knowledge in the deployment and support of infrastructure and applications.
•    Technical skills and knowledge that extends across Application/Server/Storage/Network technologies to troubleshoot and provide system level guidance/solutions
•    Hands on Oracle Database, OCI Automation, Coding Skills SQL/Java/Shell/Python/Terraform, etc.
•    Strong ability to solve operational problems, with ability to identify and automate common routines.
•    Experience in Disaster Recovery (DR)
•    Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Work with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team on the shared full stack ownership of a collection of services and/or technology areas. Understand the end-to-end configuration, technical dependencies, and overall behavioral characteristics of production services. Responsible for the design and delivery of the mission critical stack, with focus on security, resiliency, scale, and performance. Authority for end-to-end performance and operability. Partner with development teams in defining and implementing improvements in service architecture. Articulate technical characteristics of services and technology areas and guide Development Teams to engineer and add premier capabilities to the Oracle Cloud service portfolio. Understand and communicate the scale, capacity, security, performance attributes, and requirements of the service and technology stack. Demonstrate clear understanding of automation and orchestration principles. Act as ultimate escalation point for complex or critical issues that have not yet been documented as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Utilize a deep understanding of service topology and their dependencies required to troubleshoot issues and define mitigations. Under
