GL Accountant

Goettl is a long-standing, multi-state residential HVAC and plumbing company. We’re looking for an experienced General Ledger Accountant who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, in-office environment and knows how to keep multi-location accounting clean and accurate.

This is a 100% in-office role.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations

• Handle monthly balance sheet reconciliations and support the close process

• Ensure GAAP compliance across a multi-state operation

• Review financial results and respond to audit requests

• Support local, state, and federal reporting and tax requirements

• Partner with the Accounting Manager on daily accounting work and special projects

• Help improve and scale accounting processes as the company grows

• Meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

What We’re Looking For

• Experience as a GL Accountant or Staff Accountant

• Experience working in a multi-entity, multi-state environment

• Background in home services, construction, trades, or similar industries strongly preferred

• Strong knowledge of GAAP

• Advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivots, lookups, reconciliations)

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)

• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

• Comfortable working under deadlines in an in-office setting

• Experience with accounting software and financial tools
