About You
This person will assist in the daily operations of the assigned production or production support department by laying out work orders or production schedules and by providing direction and guidance to employees in supervisor's absence. You will also provide training, technical support and procedural and behavioral guidance to employees when necessary.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Receives work orders, clarifies discrepancies, and may schedule work processes to complete orders.
- Participates in the set-up of departmental machines and/or work processes to complete the required duties in a timely and cost effective manner, allocating machine time and manpower.
- Monitors machine production, work completion, and/or personnel performance to ensure proper part/product/work order completion with respect to all quality and quantity standards.
- Assists in work process changes by ensuring all set-ups and other changes are completed as required and by ensuring that manpower needs are met.
- Reviews work methods and recommends procedural or process changes to better accomplish department goals.
- Responds to procedural problems or technical questions of employees with respect to quality, part usage, or other requirements. Refers difficult or unusual questions to departmental supervisor.
- Trains employees in proper work methods for safe and efficient performance of job duties and recognition of items to be completed.
- Assists with the completion of required paperwork for documentation of work completed, work in process, and other relevant reports.
- Will assist in the selection of new employees and recommend disciplinary action to manager.
- Completes logs and other work diaries required to monitor quantity of and type of items produced or processed. Assist with the completion of other departmental paperwork as necessary.
- All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Specifications
High school diploma or GED
All work affecting product quality shall be competent on the basis of appropriate education, training, skills, and experience.
