Purpose of Job

The Head of Finance, Beacon will serve as the most senior financial position within the Alaska and will be a key member of the leadership team overseeing operations, with reporting units in MSBL.

Key responsibilities will include:
•    Business and financial strategy and planning, monitoring, management and reporting, including management and development of policies, systems, processes and personnel involved.
•    Reporting and accounting as per regulatory and legal requirements including taxation, annual reports and accounts.
•    Managing Beacon Working Capital and ensure liquidity KPI’s (Collections, AR  > 60 days, CIT etc.) are met
•    Financial staff management, motivation, training, recruitment and selection, including the management of the key financial deliverables working with the COE (Center of Excellence) Canada. 

Key performance indicators include:
•    Profit after Tax and Minority Interest
•    Working Capital and Cash
•    G&A Management
•    Capex investment
•    Tax planning
 

This is a full-time in person role located out of our Anchorage office. The hours are Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; Fridays are work from home.

Key responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Business Partnership
•    Contribute to strategic planning and development as a member of Alaska Leadership Team.
•    Participate in key decisions pertaining to strategic initiatives, operating model and operational execution.
•    As business partner to the General Manager, assess organisational performance against both the annual budget and company’s long-term strategy.
•    Establishing and supporting quarterly project reviews to fully understand existing contracts performance and areas for financial improvement. 
•    Establishing and signing off pricing models, supporting contract renewals.
•    Leverage corporate tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information to the General Manager and NAM CFO, making actionable recommendations on both strategy and operations.
•    Engage the NAM CFO around issues, trends, and changes in the regional operating model(s) and operational delivery, including regional shared service delivery.
•    Assist in establishing Alaska MS business objectives and selecting and engaging outside consultants (auditors, investment advisors) as required.
•    Oversee long-term budgetary planning and costs management in alignment with International SOS strategic plan, especially as the organisation considers potential acquisitions and collaborations with external organisations.


Financial Reporting and Internal Controls 
•    Drive compliance with GAAP and FASB across Beacon, with an additional focus on compliance with local government regulations.
•    Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, international statutory accounting requirements, internal control practices, and joint venture partner reporting for countries within the region.
•    In conjunction with NAM Tax manager and International SOS tax group, drive tax optimisation and ensure that all taxes are paid on time and regional legal entities comply with the local tax laws.


Financial Planning and Analysis
•    Ensure that the profits of Beacon is protected through the establishment of effective financial controls; implementing and maintaining appropriate management accounting and reporting systems, budgetary controls and expenditure procedures.
•    Oversee regular financial planning reports for the International SOS board of director’s, including monthly profit and loss forecasting, and quarterly business reviews.
•    Advise on the financial implications of management decisions and establish the financial soundness of proposed business investments, including expansion into new business or territories, asset acquisitions and joint ventur
