Position Summary:
A day in the life of a Director Design, Global Workwear at Dickies looks a little like this.
The Director of Design for Workwear will lead the creative vision, design strategy and execution for our tri-color Workwear category (Men’s and Women’s Workwear Apparel, excluding Genuine Dickies). This role requires a dynamic leader with a strong background in apparel design, particularly in workwear or functional apparel design, and a keen understanding of market trends and consumer needs. The Director of Design will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our products meet the highest standards of quality, price/value, functionality, and style. This role reports to the VP Global Design.

Lead design strategy and execution in creating innovative and functional workwear apparel and accessories that align with the brand’s vision and business objectives
Develop a strong understanding of the market to identify opportunities and threats, stay up to date on industry trends, competitor activities, and retail merchandising practices, especially in workwear focused retailers
Ensure all designs meet quality, price/cost, fit, and functional standards, with a priority on considering cost and manufacturability.
Oversee the entire design process, from concept to final product, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
Conduct market research and trend analysis to stay ahead of industry developments and incorporate relevant trends into designs.
Lead and manage the workwear design team, providing direction, mentorship, and support, fostering a creative and collaborative work environment.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and other external partners.
Present design concepts and collections to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
Continuously analyze the category and evaluate design changes needed to improve efficiency, relevance, profitability and commercial viability

The foundation skills you will need in this position are:
Emphasis on brand and product storytelling through product design and retail design
Utilize a variety of design elements to articulate high-level, impactful artistic vision.
Outstanding presentation skills.
Knowledge of workwear design and functional product innovation.
Strong leadership, management and mentoring skills.
Ability to use 2D/3D software, including Sketch Up, AutoCAD, KeyShot, PhotoShop, In Design, Illustrator, and Keynote.
Detail-oriented and creative problem solver
There are also a few skills that are not required but preferred.
Educational/ Position Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in design or related field.
10+ years design experience.

Hiring Range:
$159,840.00 USD - $199,800.00 USD annuallyIncentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential.
