Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking an Environmental Intern to be based in our Raleigh, North Carolina office working with the Remediation group.

This position is expected to begin in June 2024, with an expected duration of 3-4 months.

The responsibilities of this position will include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide support to our Remediation team both in the field and in the office.
  • Environmental field sampling support.
  • Data analysis and report preparation.
  • Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands-on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and hep to enhance the transition from student to professional.
  • Interns will be assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Candidates must be currently enrolled in a university program pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Environmental Science or Geology with the intent to continue after the internship, unless graduating.
  • Candidates must have completed three years of study in their program.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • OSHA 40-Hr HAZWOPER certification.
  • Experience in coursework focusing on soils, hydrology, or geology.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with ArcMap, ArcPro, AutoCAD, or Adobe Illustrator.

Additional Information

  • Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
  • Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
  • Candidate will submit to medical surveillance screening upon hire.
  • The selected candidate must be available to work in Raleigh, NC on a scheduled basis.
