About the role

Are you a quality-driven engineer who thrives on finding issues before users do, and takes pride in ensuring every release delights with stability and polish? At TextCortex AI, you’ll have a direct impact on the experience of millions, joining a core team committed to innovation, ownership, and continuous improvement. We’re one of the fastest-growing AI product companies in Europe, powering organizational knowledge for over 2 million users worldwide. As a QA Engineer, you’ll champion product quality at every step — both by designing automated tests and conducting rigorous daily manual testing — to keep us at the forefront of AI-powered productivity.

Tasks

App Quality Leadership:

Own the end-to-end quality assurance process for our web applications, extensions, and AI-powered features. Champion the creation of robust automated test suites, working closely with developers to ensure critical paths are always covered.

Manual Testing Excellence:

Independently perform thorough manual testing on our apps and key user flows—every single day. You’ll explore edge cases, provide actionable bug reports, and guard against regressions that could break trust with our users.

Proactive Issue Detection:

Identify, investigate, and document defects with clear steps to reproduce. Partner with engineers to communicate bugs and their business impact, ensuring fast turnaround and continual improvement. You’ll make it your mission to spot what others miss.

Continuous Process Improvement:

Continuously optimize our QA process—whether it’s introducing smarter tooling, improving coverage, or advocating for usability best practices. We move fast and so should our QA: you’ll experiment and iterate on new testing approaches to keep pace with rapid product development.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Work hand-in-hand with product managers, designers, and engineers from feature inception to release—clarifying requirements, reviewing designs for testability, and ensuring we build with quality in mind from day one.

Advocate for the User:

Be our last line of defense for user experience. Raise the standard for UI/UX, accessibility, and performance by championing empathy for how real users interact with our products.

Requirements

Technical Skills & Experience:

Proven Experience: 3+ years in software QA/QE roles, with hands-on experience in both manual and automated testing of modern web applications. Skilled in balancing what to automate vs. what to test manually.

Manual Testing Mastery: Outstanding attention to detail and curiosity. You’re methodical, love exploring “what if” scenarios, and never shy away from retesting until every edge case is handled.

Bug Reporting & Reproduction: Crafted clear, actionable bug reports and triaged issues effectively as part of daily workflow. Bonus: You’ve worked with bug-tracking/project management tools (like Jira, Linear, Asana, or similar).

UI/UX Sensibility: Strong sense for design quality, usability, and accessibility. You notice when something “feels off” and take initiative to get it right for the end-user.

Frontend Familiarity: Comfortable working alongside frontend engineers. You can read developer PRs, understand modern web architectures, and know how to test SPAs, browser extensions, and REST/GraphQL APIs.

CI/CD & Tooling: Experience working with modern development workflows (Git, CI/CD, test runners, build/deploy pipelines). You understand how QA fits into a modern product engineering process.

AI Enthusiasm (Bonus): Curious about leveraging AI tools (e.g. for test generation, bug detection, regression monitoring). You’re excited by rapid innovation and eager to try new approaches.

Benefits

Urban Sports Club membership – for free! Stay active and healthy with full access to Berlin’s best gyms, studios, and sports facilities.

Stock options in one of Europe’s hottest AI startups—share in our journey and success as we scale.

The chance to work side-by-side with a highly ambitious, talent
