The Internship Program

Our 10-week summer program puts real work of the firm in your hands. You will work alongside brilliant people, gain insights and know-how from our Quanta Academy Summer Term   curriculum, and experience what it’s like to work at the pinnacle of global, systematic investing.

Learning is the cornerstone of our culture and plays an active role in the internship experience — through daily collaboration and interaction with employees at all levels, in workshops and classes, and most significantly by working on projects that matter to the many clients we serve.   Our unique AQR Quanta Academy: Summer Term learning series, a structured program, consists of over 40 hours of educational, skill-building and networking events.

Your Role 

Are you an intelligent and creative thinker?  Do you enjoy finding elegant technical solutions to complex problems? Are you interested in seeing an impact of your work in real life? We are looking for innovative and passionate undergraduates to join our Cloud Engineering team as summer analysts.

Applications running in the Cloud need to be architected correctly, enabling them to reap the benefits of elasticity, horizontal scalability, automation and high availability. On the AWS platform, services such as EC2, Auto Scaling, Elastic Load Balancing, Lambda, Elastic Container Service and S3, are some of the building blocks that enable the design and development of Cloud-ready applications.

 

Focus Areas

• Helping architect scalable, highly available application solutions that leverage AWS services
• Architecting and developing applications to be cloud optimized
• Working as both an infrastructure and application development specialist
• Agile software development and DevOps
• Implementing DevOps practices such as infrastructure as code, continuous integration and automated deployment

 

Technologies

• Python
• Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• Infrastructure Application Services such as RabbitMQ, Redis and Postgres
• Developer tools such as Git, Jenkins and Artifactory

 

Who You Are 

• December 2025 or Spring 2026 graduate in a Computer Science related program
• Committed to intellectual integrity, with a high degree of ethics
• Mature and thoughtful, with the ability to operate within a collaborative, team-oriented culture
• Hard working and eager to learn in a highly intellectual, innovative environment
• Well–organized, detail–oriented; able to multi–task and keep track of various deadlines
• Look beyond the surface level to understand the underlying details
