Our Self-Service Engineering team is at the forefront of transforming how engineering teams build, deploy, and scale applications across S&P Global. We're building the next generation of developer platforms and tooling that will enable thousands of engineers to deliver value faster and more reliably. The team values innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence as we work to establish industry-leading practices in platform engineering and developer experience.

Responsibilities and Impact:

  • Lead the design and implementation of a comprehensive SDLC framework that standardizes development practices across multiple engineering teams

  • Build and scale enterprise-grade CI/CD pipelines and automation infrastructure to support rapid, reliable software delivery

  • Establish developer productivity metrics and implement tooling that measurably improves engineering velocity and code quality

  • Partner with engineering leadership to define technical standards, security practices, and compliance frameworks for the development lifecycle

  • Drive the adoption of modern DevOps practices including infrastructure as code, automated testing, and continuous deployment across the organization

  • Mentor and develop a high-performing team of DevOps engineers while fostering a culture of innovation and operational excellence

Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates) 

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $170,000 to $215,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications. 

 

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan. 

What We're Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of DevOps/Platform Engineering experience with 3+ years in senior leadership roles managing technical teams

  • Proven track record of designing and implementing SDLC processes and CI/CD pipelines at enterprise scale

  • Deep expertise with cloud platforms (such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and infrastructure as code tools (such as Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation)

  • Strong experience with containerization technologies (such as Docker, Podman, or containerd) and orchestration platforms (such as Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, or OpenShift)

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with ability to influence technical decisions across multiple engineering teams

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent technical experience

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with AI/ML integration in DevOps workflows and automation platforms (such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT integrations, or custom ML-powered tooling)

  • Background in financial services or regulated industries with understanding of compliance automation and risk management frameworks

  • Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability solutions (such as Prometheus, Grafana, DataDog, or Splunk) and site reliability engineering practices

  • Track record of building and scaling developer platforms, self-service tooling, and implementing measurable productivity improvements across large engineering organizations
