Donor Relations and Grants Coordinator

Job Title: Coordinator, Donor Relations and Grants
Reports To: Director, Philanthropic Operations
Department: Foundation

Position Summary:

The Coordinator, Donor Relations and Grants is a key member of the Foundation team, responsible for implementing donor relations strategies and supporting fundraising and grant efforts across Marshall Health Network entity foundations, including Cabell Huntington Hospital Foundation, St. Mary’s Medical Center Foundation, Rivers Health Foundation, and others.

This role supports individual donor development, major gifts, sustainer and planned giving pipelines, and direct response initiatives to grow philanthropic revenue.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and cultivate prospective donors to support strategic fundraising goals

• Promote core Foundation programs to donors and prospects

• Maintain complete and accurate donor records

• Solicit contributions to meet individual and Foundation fundraising benchmarks

• Foster ongoing relationships with prospective and existing donors

• Research, apply for, and manage grants aligned with Foundation needs

• Track, report, and manage post-award grant activities

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business Administration, or a related field

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in philanthropy

• Proven success in securing major gifts

• Experience aligning donor interests with organizational mission

Skills:

• Strong project management and organizational skills

• Effective verbal and written communication, including public speaking

• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Integrity and ability to handle confidential information

• Strong analytical and decision-making abilities

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

• Ability to push/pull objects under 20 lbs

• Use of fine motor skills for writing, typing, and handling documents

• Ability to move around work areas

• Normal hearing and vision required, including close visual work

• Tasks may involve light lifting, reaching, and repetitive motions
