Job Description
Job purpose
Performs a variety of skilled journeyman level general, mechanical and preventative maintenance tasks. Conducts inspections, servicing, repair and overhaul of equipment and facilities of the medical center and medical center owned facilities. May serve as a technical expert in HVAC operations, service, and repair.
Main accountabilities and tasks
- Use state and local Building Code knowledge and promptly advises management of any issues or concerns
- Understands various systems within the building and inspects and assesses the condition
- AC
- Cooling Water Chiller
- Compressed Air
- Electrical Installations
- Clean room
- Manage and maintain the building management control systems
- Knowledge of and assist in building qualification to regulatory (medical) standards
- Manages and executes the maintenance of facilities and facilities equipment
- Coordinate, oversee and ensure outside vendor service is properly completed and meets medmix standards for repair and maintenance
- Responds to and resolves skilled facility installation and repair requests for electrical, plumbing and department equipment as assigned
- Document work in such a way as to provide accurate repair and preventive maintenance history
- Initiates improvements to existing systems
- Coordinates with logistics regular pick up of domestic waste
- Supports programs EHS and monitors hazardous waste
- Manages facilities janitorial and vendor services
- Ensures that our facility complies with local codes, laws and recommended practices
Qualifications
Desired experience and qualifications
Work experience: 0- 3 years in a Facilities Engineer role in a manufacturing environment
Education: Bachelor’s or associates degree in industrial maintenance, electrical or mechanical engineering
Other:
- Electrical knowledge, Electrician certification preferred
- Experience with industrial or commercial HVAC maintenance and/or service experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of clean room operation preferred
- Knowledge of building qualification for medical industry preferred
- Familiar with Manufacturing environment (injection molding, automation)
