We are seeking a professional like you responsible for the overall Automation and Process Controls for Polyurethan manufacturing facilities, including making improvements to BASF’s existing Controls Systems, developing solutions to modify and improve the system, benchmarking BASF Global standards, and implementing changes to the system.

As a Process Control Engineer Senior, you create chemistry by…

• Handling and overseeing projects (MOC), participating in review packages for contractors/vendors, and providing day-to-day support for multi-variable controllers to ensure optimum performance throughout BASF’s process plants.
• Troubleshooting problems in accordance with BASF’s Process and Controls philosophy, while supporting investigations for any Process Controls-related incident or event. Identifying and implementing process optimization and lean improvements.
• Leading migration of DCS platforms, develop the MES roadmap, and implement MES capabilities. Hold technical parties accountable in the areas of Process Controls for capital investment projects.
• Serving as a dedicated resource to our manufacturing facilities for Process Control engineering to ensure that BASF can maintain functionality of the facilities and continue to supply our customers with quality products.

If you…

• Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Systems Engineering, related Engineering disciplines, or related field of study and four (4) years of related experience required.
• Four (4) years of experience must include the following:: technically applying Distributed Control System (DCS), Manufacturing Execution System (MES), and Safety Instrumented System (SIS); Process Controls electrical equipment and programming strategies; manufacturing equipment vendor account management; design and implementation of specialized process control logic configuration, tuning control loops, and related process specialist functions; technical guidance and contribution on automation and process control scope for capital investment projects; and mentoring and developing plant process control teams.

BASF is committed to pay transparency practices. The competitive Pay Range for this role is $114,400 - $143,000. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
