Work Flexibility: Hybrid<p></p><p></p><p><b>The Job's Mission</b></p><p>Within the European Finance Shared Service Center (EFSSC) and reporting to the Senior Manager Intercompany, the mission of the <b>Associate Manager Intercompany</b> is to ensure the accuracy, reliability and integrity of the company’s books and records and financial reports. Within this mission is the responsibility is to maintain an effective system of internal controls and ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, Stryker policies and procedures and any applicable laws and regulations. The incumbent must also support the needs of the business on a need by basis, for example by providing analysis and insight into financial trends, risks and opportunities.</p><p></p><p><b>What you will do</b></p><p></p><p><b>Key Activities &amp; Accountabilities</b></p><p>The <b>Associate Manager Intercompany</b> performs managerial responsibilities as required to support the needs of the business.  These responsibilities include but are not limited to the following.  Note that responsibilities may be added or removed as deemed necessary.</p><p></p><p><b>Accounting and Reporting</b></p><ul><li><p>Owns accounting and reporting for assigned set of books of entities</p></li><li><p>Maintains a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure</p></li><li><p>Ensure accounts are properly reconciled with documentation to support account balances in accordance with Stryker’s corporate finance policies </p></li><li><p>Ensures and <span>maintains documentation</span> to support account balances and transactions in a manner that facilitates the efficient review and audit of books and records </p></li><li><p>Acts as escalation point for the accounting team and local business partners  </p></li><li><p>Coordinates with internal and external auditors to ensure audit objectives are efficiently and effectively achieved</p></li><li><p>Responds to inquiries regarding accounting requests</p></li><li><p>Implements action plans resulting from audits and/or process simplication and standardization</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Month-end and Year-end Close</b></p><ul><li><p>Leads team of accountants to timely completion of the closing schedule </p></li><li><p>Ensures financial information is reviewed to identify any issues that would impact the accuracy and reliability of financial information presented </p></li><li><p>Reviews financial reports according to Divisional and Corporate reporting requirements </p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Balance Sheet Reviews</b> </p><ul><li><p>Perform regular reviews of balance sheet accounts to ensure the accounts are properly stated </p></li><li><p>Take necessary actions if material over/understatements are identified </p></li><li><p><span>Reports findings</span> and recommendations and ensure corrective actions are taken as necessary </p></li></ul><p>  </p><p><b>Internal Controls and Compliance</b> </p><ul><li><p>Owns risk and control matrix for assigned area </p></li><li><p>Ensures all core processes are documented with risk and control points clearly identified </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Ensures proper segregation of duties and delegated authorities are maintained and monitored </p></li><li><p>Ensures an efficient and effective system of internal controls to maintain compliance with SOX 404, anti-corruption / anti-bribery laws and regulation, Stryker policies and procedures and any other relevant laws and regulations </p></li><li><p>Ensures regular monitoring of the effectiveness of internal controls and compliance processes </p></li><li><p>Proactively identify and report any compliance issues or emerging risks and development and implement mitigation plans </p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>People Management</b></p><ul><li><p>Manages and supervises staff of professionals, including senior accountants and accountants to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met  </p></li><li><p>Ensures teams work in line with established company HR and recruitment <span>guidelines  </span></p></li><li><p>Works with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff  </p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span>Makes self-available as</span> coach / mentor in assisting direct reports to develop in their positions </p></li><li><p>Delegates tasks to direct reports in line with skill, knowledge and ability and where necessary identify skill gaps and training requirements </p></li><li><p>Ensures staff has access to <span>appropriate training for new</span> and existing staff as needed </p></li><li><p>Maintain regular communications on performance and development </p></li><li><p><span>Handles personnel</span> issues relating to staff conflicts, absenteeism, performance issues, etc.</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>As required, become involved in relevant personnel matters including recruitment, termination and counseling </p></li></ul><p></p><
