About the role
Description
As the Chief Medical Officer, you will have these key responsibilities:
Clinical Leadership & Strategy:
- Serve as an enterprise physician leader and thought partner to Chief Strategic Services Officer and Market Physician Executives to:
- Succeed in value-based care and risk-based payment models
- Improve governance, leadership, management and performance of client-partner physician enterprises
- Engage, empower, and enable – and motivate - physicians (primary care and specialist) by optimizing professional satisfaction, income, and lifestyle
- Develop and implement clinical strategies to improve patient access, experience, and clinical outcomes; reduce unnecessary care variation and unnecessary utilization; and enhance care coordination
- Modernize physician compensation
- Ensure alignment of clinical goals across markets
- Lead the development and sharing of best practices across markets
- Support Market Presidents in evaluating Market Physician Executive performance
- Serve as clinical advisor for Navvis enterprise teams
- Provide clinical leadership and direction as part of the Market Strategies team supporting current and new client partners in areas such as: physician enterprise governance and management, physician compensation, physician leadership development, clinical service line strategy, CIN optimization, etc..
- Stay abreast of the latest clinical guidelines, best practices, and healthcare policy changes relevant to Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and Medicaid patient populations.
- As part of the enterprise leadership, responsible for the continued evolution and implementation of the physician focused components of the Navvis Strategic Plan.
Performance Management:
- Collaborate with enterprise and market teams to enhance clinical performance, patient satisfaction, and safety.
- Recommend and support implementation of process improvements designed to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and success of physicians and clinicians.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to quality, cost, and utilization across clients.
- Support enterprise government programs team and market teams to ensure compliance with all reporting requirements and quality standards set by CMS and other regulatory bodies.
Provider Engagement & Collaboration:
- Drive a positive culture that supports team-based collaboration and results that improve patient satisfaction, employee retention, and physician experience.
- Demonstrate and lead providers toward accountability and oversight for goals, outcomes, and cost-effective clinical care.
- In collaboration with the Navvis Government Programs team, provide education and training to providers on value-based care principles, population health management, and MSSP ACO initiatives. Promote behavioral changes inproviders when necessary.
A Day in the Life:
- Actively engage enterprise and market teams to promote performance in clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, and company goals.
- Act as a change agent by promoting and supporting new enterprise-wide clinical initiatives by leading physicians through training, communication, and removal of barriers to change.
- Promote appropriate and compliant utilization management of medically necessary services.
- Advocate continuous clinical process improvement focused on patient outcomes and efficiency by championing opportunities to enhance development of EHR workflows, promotion of disease-specific protocols, and education of clinical staff.
- Participate in internal and external clinical audits and peer reviews as necessary.

- Build trusting relationships with client partner executives and medical providers.
- In conjunction with the market teams, accountable for performance on clinical KPIs and overall performance of each market.
- Promote the goals of the client while ensuring the clinical and professional success of medical professionals.
- Advocate on behalf of both organizational leaders and providers by attentively assessing objectives and priorities; and by addressing matters promptly, courteously, and respectfully.
- Provide overall medical direction to support and develop clinical practice guidelines and protocols.
- Meet and exceed performance expectations within value-based care contracts.
