The VP of Personal Wealth Investment Technology is responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, development, and delivery of cutting-edge technology solutions tailored for wealth management investment services. This role will drive technology innovation, enhance the digital client experience, and ensure secure, efficient platform functionality for Empower’s Personal Wealth customers. Personal Wealth Investments include multiple managed accounts along with managed account growth features, such as Customer Onboarding, Account Opening, Information Gathering, Appointment Scheduling and Suitability.  Reporting to the Head of Personal Wealth Technology, the VP will collaborate across functions to align wealth technology initiatives with overall business strategies and future growth objectives.

What you will do:

  • Define and execute the technology strategy for Personal Wealth Investments, focusing on secure, scalable, and client-centric solutions

  • Oversee the design, development, testing, and deployment of applications, ensuring superior user experience and compliance with regulatory standards

  • Partner closely with wealth management business leaders to understand strategic priorities and translate them into technology initiatives

  • Lead a diverse team of directors, managers, and technical experts to deliver projects on time, within budget, and with high-quality standards

  • Implement risk management practices to ensure data security, compliance, and regulatory adherence in wealth technology systems

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in processes, tools, and technologies to optimize platform performance and user satisfaction

  • Oversee the department’s budget, including cost control, forecasting, and resource allocation

  • Provide industry experience and engage in industry research and benchmarking to ensure our wealth technology platform remains competitive and innovative

  • Spearhead talent development within the team, focusing on leadership, technical skill enhancement, and long-term career growth.

  • Act as a senior decision-maker in defining policies and strategic direction within wealth technology operations

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or a related field

  • 15+ years of relevant experience in wealth management technology or financial systems, with a minimum of 8 years in an executive or senior management role

  • FINRA Series 99 and fingerprinting required within corporate guidelines

  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing technology solutions for wealth management, with a focus on enhancing digital client experiences

  • Strong financial and strategic acumen, with the ability to manage budgets and align technology initiatives with business goals

  • Proven track record of managing compliance, data security, and regulatory considerations in technology solutions

What will set you apart:

  • Master’s degree preferred
