Associate Application Security Engineer - Mid-Atlantic region (Remote in VA, MD, PA, NC, DE, NJ, or DC)

Required Experience:

• Familiarity with the concepts and best practices pertaining to application security testing tools such as SAST, DAST, SCA, etc.
• Basic understanding of Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline tools and processes (e.g. GitHub Actions, GitLab Runners, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, etc.)
• Entry-level experience in software engineering, including modern technologies and API driven application architectures
• Strong coding/scripting experience using one or more programming languages
• Fundamental working knowledge of application security topics including the OWASP Top 10, threat modeling, and securing the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred:

• Experience integrating tools into a CI/CD pipeline or writing custom API integrations
• Practical hands-on experience validating vulnerabilities and basic proficiency with Burp Suite

Educational & Professional Credentials:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience
• 1-2 years of software development or security engineering experience
