Job Description

Verisk is hiring a Product Manager to join the team responsible for developing and supporting strategic data partnerships with our clients. As a Product Manager, you will help shape and drive our product and go-to-market strategies. You will work closely with product, sales and technology teams to propose client solutions that range from traditional outsourcing methods, including managed / professional services partnership, to a more strategic data management relationship.

About the Day to Day Responsibilities of the Role

Responsibilities & Essential Duties:

  • Serve as the focal point for onboarding new customers
  • Develop and implement strategies for expanding business opportunities with existing Clients. This includes developing account business plans, identifying sales opportunities, and implementing Client strategies
  • Work with Marketing and Sales to develop product messaging and positioning collateral that focus on key features, benefits, and proof points to help articulate the value of the offering
  • Develop and manage Statements of Work and contractual agreements
  • Provide regular reporting of billable hours and services revenue; ensure all targets are achieved
  • Monitor and evaluate existing client needs while working closely with the product delivery team for successful client implementations and account stewardship
  • Act as a business partner across the different key functional areas, including regulatory (statistical reporting) and data operations, technology, client strategy and insights.
  • Completes all special projects and other duties as assigned.    
  • Regular travel required approximately 15-20%

Qualifications

About You and How You Can Excel in This Role

Required Skills:

  • Leadership or comparable experience in a similar industry focused on data management and analytics
  • Proven experience implementing data management and reporting solutions at scale, and knowledge of the insurance data lifecyle
  • Experience in consultative engagements with client business and technology stakeholders
  • Proven ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated effectiveness and strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Superior public speaking and presentation skills in both sales support and training environments. Ability and experience with tailoring messages to all levels of the organization from individual contributors to executives
  • Provide extraordinary client support with a passionate commitment
  • Excellent computer skills, especially with MS Windows and Office. Excel and PowerPoint skills required

Encouraged Skills:

  • Business consulting experience
  • Significant P&C insurance industry experience
  • Experience with data management and ISO statistical reporting implementation projects is highly desirable
  • Experience with data management technologies (SQL, Python, ETL, Data Warehousing) preferred but not essential
  • Product Development experience preferred but not essential
  • Knowledge of ISO Underwriting and Rating Products is a plus
  • Insurance association memberships and/or certifications a plus (for example: AIDA, CPCU, IDMA)

Minimal Education and Training Requirements:

  • 4-year college degree or equivalent experience
  • Eight plus years’ experience in insurance data system integration and modernization projects, with a strong focus on process optimization, data quality enhancement and successful data delivery
  • Knowledge of insurance data operations, regulatory compliance and information management
  • Knowledge of insurance data and analytic technique
