Definition of Class
This position provides expert business counseling and advising to clients with area specific needs. The incumbent conducts training for staff and clients, prepares stakeholder reports, and develops outreach content for target markets.
Examples of Work Performed
- Evaluates client new venture and business expansion plans and proposals.
- Provides expert level counseling to clients in a specific business counseling area.
- Maintains client records and files.
- Researches and analyzes specific business and industry data that will impact clients.
- Identifies target markets and works with communication staff to develop or update outreach materials.
- Prepares, manages, and analyzes stakeholder reports.
- Makes strategy recommendations based on data gathered from stakeholder reports.
- Develops, coordinates, and facilitates trainings for clients and internal department staff. Travels as required.
- Stays abreast of area specific rules and regulations, and distributes related information to the department, as needed.
- Coordinates outreach events with other departments or agencies.
- Consults with a variety of outside agencies to assist clients with obtaining objectives.
- Performs related or similar duties as required or assigned.
Essential Functions
These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following. Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department.
- Serves as a subject matter expert in a particular business counseling area.
- Provides logistical support and training for clients and departmental staff.
- Develops and manages content for outreach materials based on federal/state rules and regulations.
Minimum Education/Experience
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
AND
Experience:
Three (3) years of experience related to the above described duties
Substitution Statement:
Related experience may be substituted for education, on a basis set forth and approved by the Department of Human Resources.
