Job Summary:

An opportunity exists in the Advanced Microelectronics Solutions (AMS) Department, a part of Raytheon, for a Senior Automated Optical Inspection Engineer. AMS develops, designs, and manufactures compound semiconductor devices, millimeter/microwave integrated circuits, focal plane arrays, and modules for defense and commercial applications. 

The individual in this role will serve as a senior process engineer within the Metrology Workcenter, which focuses primarily on supporting the production line by providing measurements and yield analyses of production parts. The ideal candidate will have experience in Automated Optical Inspection of semiconductor wafers and defect classification software.  They would also demonstrate the ability to analyze the data and provide clear feedback to other process and development engineers. Further, they would have experience in interacting with data structures and databases.  The candidate will support the operational goals of the facility through developing and supporting a robust inspection infrastructure, and leading teams to drive process root cause corrective action efforts.

The candidate should have a general understanding of the overall techniques involved in semiconductor wafer fabrication and integration. Experience with statistical analysis software such as JMP, Minitab, R, etc. is preferred.

This position is 100% onsite and will be based in Andover, MA.

What You Will Do:

  • Developing AOI recipes and performing yield and failure analyses for programs
  • Leading teams to support the foundry’s production efforts through lot disposition, process sustainment, and RCCA and process improvement activities.
  • Leading the effort to build effective data structures to capture and communicate AOI yield analysis
  • Supporting capital procurement and qualification efforts.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 10+ years of prior work experience related to semiconductor process integration, metrology, and automated inspection & experience troubleshooting production process equipment. (OR a STEM Master's and 7+ years of prior work experience.)
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Master’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
  • Experience leading a team to solve complex Engineering problems
  • Experience with defect tracking software such as TrueADC
  • Experience working with SQL databases
  • Experience with statistical analysis software (JMP, Minitab, R, SPSS, MATLAB, etc)
  • Experience with semiconductor integration and equipment.
  • Experience in statistical process control (SPC)
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly present data and analyses
  • Ability to document and maintain production processes.

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
