The Program Officer will provide programmatic, technical, operational and compliance support to country teams and US teams. The Program Officer will support the programs in staying on target and ensuring that activities are implemented smoothly. They will also support the programs in monitoring, evaluation, learning and reporting as needed.

Your Background & Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations/Affairs/Studies/Education, International Development, Management, Public Management, Journalism, Political Science, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in program management and international development, preferably focused on media, freedom of expression, adult education, digital security, physical safety, and psychosocial care.
  • Demonstrate experience with budgeting, financial management, and compliance.
  • Demonstrate experience, knowledge, or interest in the South Asia region is required.
  • Experience in drafting and designing internal and external communications pieces preferred.
  • Demonstrate management of international assistance programs.
  • Excellent written and oral communication proficiency in English is required.
  • Strong writing, editing, and oral presentation skills.
  • Team player with an inclusive leadership attitude.
  • Familiarity with USG rules and regulations is preferred. Familiarity with donors other than USG is also preferred.
  • Familiarity with the media environment in South Asia. 
  • Awareness on gender equality and social inclusion approach. 
  •  Must demonstrate valid proof of unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.

Your Daily Tasks

  • Support the management of assigned projects and activities.
  • Oversee and provide support for implementation of regional activities.
  • Provide day-to-day operational support to project team and field-based staff.
  • Support the development of project deliverables.
  • Collect information about activities implemented in the field.
  • Draft and create project timelines and workplans.
  • Review and update budgets and forecasts.
  • Create and contribute to internal and donor reports.
  • Support other products/documents as identified.
  • Support project Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) efforts as needed.
  • Analyze, draft reports, support data collection, conduct data entry and analysis, and support successful tracking of indicators.
  • Support clear internal and external communication for the assigned projects.
  • Create and contribute to articles and publications
  • Review and send written communication
  • Lead small meetings.
  • Interact with donors, partners, stakeholders, and internal contributors.
  • Ensure compliance requirements are met for all assigned work products and activities.
  • At the direction of project leadership, independently and accurately, perform financial administration tasks (check requests, sub-award approval level, etc.).
  • Act as the advocate of the best interest of the center and country offices being represented.
  • May mentor, guide, train or coach other staff, as needed.
  • Other administrative and programmatic duties, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

This fulfilling position offers an anticipated salary range of approximately $57,200 - $70,000.
