Job Description

This position provides essential administrative, organizational, accounting, and fiscal support to the Court Interpreter Certification and Regulation Program―which qualifies and regulates spoken language court interpreters for the Florida State Courts System. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare travel reimbursement requests, assist with inventory management, draft correspondence, and prepare reports.

  • Create templates for forms and assist in organizing travel and meeting logistics.

  • Process requests related to training, testing, and renewals for registration or official state-level designation.

  • Ensure a smooth and efficient workflow for all administrative aspects of the program.

  • Collect and input data for statistical reports, maintain automated office systems and databases, and provide information to court personnel and the public.

  • Ensure data accuracy and timely reporting.

  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion and judgment.

  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with judges, court personnel, state and local government staff, vendors, and the public.

  • Occasionally travel within the state to serve as a test proctor or provide administrative support at workshops and oral exam administrations.

 

The ideal candidate must demonstrate exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail while effectively working independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

 

Education and Training Guidelines

Bachelor’s degree.

One year of work experience in business administration, office skills, or a related field.

Additional relevant experience may substitute for the recommended educational level on a year-for-year basis.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of and ability to use correct English, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

  • Knowledge of and ability to perform basic mathematical operations, bookkeeping, and simple statistics.

  • Ability to plan and prepare budgets, reports, correspondence, and charts in a variety of formats.

  • Ability to proofread and edit correspondence and reports.

  • Ability to use a personal computer and word processing applications such as Word and spreadsheets.

  • Ability to organize work, establish priorities, and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to organize and/or automate office procedures and maintain an effective filing system.

  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, including long- and short-range projects.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.

  • Ability to deal tactfully with the public.
