Job Description:

PRIMARY FUNCTION
The selected candidate performs full range of secretarial, administrative and paraprofessional Human Resources duties of a responsible and confidential nature to provide specialized support to the BGCAPP Team.  This position requires exercise of judgment and working knowledge of policy as set forth by company and project, as well federal and state law.  Works under general guidance and utilizes significant discretion in the application of standards.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for maintenance of records, filing and system processes.

Responsible for accuracy and completion in processing transactional items and coordination of employee information and payroll related issues.

Assists in a variety of project related activities and compliance related activities through active participation.

Supports the internal and external employment investigations and auditing of employee records and other requests for information.

Provides assistance to department and stakeholders with solutions to business problems.  May provide systems training and guidance to end users and support staff as directed.

Completes special projects as directed, compiles data, and prepares regular or special reports.  Recognizes tasks that have a sense of urgency and establishes priorities.

Maintain knowledge of professional and industry practices and governmental regulations as related to the area of specialization; utilize this knowledge to recommend and propose internal policies and procedures related to the specialized function of the job. Maintain current, accurate and complete HR files and documentation of procedures for area(s) of specialty. Provide administrative support to the Project Support function with office management responsibilities. The Project Support Coordinator may be required to work independently on projects requiring research and preparation of presentation materials. Other duties as may be assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 2-year degree in Business Administration, Psychology, or Human Resources (or equivalent) and 0-2 years of related work experience, or High School diploma and 5+ years of relevant experience in Human Resources.

Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are required. 

Demonstrated proficiency in keyboard skills and the utilization of MS Suite. 

A familiarity with company policies and procedures is preferred, as well as a demonstrated ability to administer a variety of activities simultaneously, set priorities, and meet deadlines.

BGCAPP is subject to the Army Regulations (AR 50-6 Chemical Surety and AR 190-59 Chemical Agent Security Program) which govern persons performing work under the Chemical Personnel Reliability Program (CPRP) and Unescorted Access Program (UAP).  Depending on the work performed and the access granted a government security investigation and other physical requirements may be mandated.  Eligibility to be placed in a CPRP or UAP position requires US citizenship and the ability to successfully complete a National Agency Check with Local Credit Check.  (NACLC).
BGCAPP is a Drug Free Workplace.  All employees are subject to and agree to random drug and alcohol testing as a condition of continued employment for the duration of their assignment.
This position may also require use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and personnel must pass a respirator fit test and pulmonary function test.
Lifting/Carrying:  Occasionally, up to 50 lbs.  Climbing: Occasionally.  Bending/Kneeling:  Occasionally.  Sitting:  Infrequent.  Walking/Standing: Frequently.  Hearing:  Able to hear audible alarms.  Vision:  Able to see/read/understand warning lights/signs.  
Ability to obtain and maintain Blue Grass Army Depot (BGAD) site access is required.  Access requirements include completion of a local records check and National Crime Information Center (NCIC) check.
BGCAPP operates on a 24/7 schedule including weekends and holidays.  Ability to work a flexible schedule may be required.
