The Technical Program Manager will lead the cross-functional development of advanced process control (APC) strategy and programmatic deployment across McCain manufacturing facilities globally. Key responsibilities of this role include:

• Develop best-in-class advanced process control (APC) and automation strategy to optimize McCain manufacturing lines for safety, quality, and cost in partnership with Engineering, Operations, and IT/OT (Operations Technology) groups.
• Develop and present high impact business cases in partnership with Finance by translating technical performance into business benefits.
• Lead implementation of process control tools and strategies across McCain global manufacturing sites as Program Manager, including team resource and timeline management for simultaneous deployment at multiple locations and regions.
• Demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills through various levels of business and plant organizations.
• Use data analytical tools and data to identify performance opportunities for existing equipment and new installations that deliver breakthrough performance.
• Drive standardization and consistency in line control and automation best practices across McCain global sites.
• Provide coaching and mentoring for other manufacturing and technical operations personnel.
• Deliver effective change management to support technical and cultural transformations globally.

 

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution; Chemical Engineering or Food Engineering is preferred.
• Professional Engineering designation, MBA, or PMP certifications are considered a plus.
• 5-7 years of experience in Manufacturing, Engineering/Maintenance, or R&D functions
• 5+ years of experience in Project/Program Management with cross-functional teams
• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment working with advanced process controls (APC); experience with model predictive control (MPC) is considered a plus.

 

 

SKILLS & CAPABILITIES.

• Strong technical aptitude: process development and optimization, controls and automation
• Knowledge of processing equipment, processing methods, manufacturing philosophies and basic manufacturing SOP’.
• Experience in training and development of operators, supervisors and managers.
• Support plants to meet cost targets driven through optimizing plant assets and practices.
• Highly organized with strong technical program/project management capability, ability to lead cross-functional teams for business impact.
• Strong project communication and stakeholder management skills, including creating and delivering presentations to senior stakeholders.
• Resilient after business setbacks, and demonstrates persistence in tough circumstances
• Ability to influence in a highly complex, dynamic and matrixed organization 
• Ability to work independently and within teams on abstract projects with minimal supervision. 
   

TRAVEL

• Ability to travel up to 50%, including international travel outside of North America.
