Presbyterian Medical Group seeks a nurse practitioner or physician assistant to join our established practice in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We're all about well-being, starting with yours. Practice Highlights:

  • 18-22 patients per day in clinic
  • Mix of inpatient and outpatient duties
  • Focused on electrophysiology

Responsibilities

Summary:Assists physicians with rounding and patient management for electrophysiology patients.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Supports PHG inpatient/clinic service, as required, rotating through as needed.
  • Remains in-house during assigned shift.
  • Works in concert with the cardiologist in completing admissions and consultations, rounding, and managing patient care during the assigned shift in the clinic and the hospital. This includes initial evaluations (H&P), documentation, writing orders and clinical disposition.
  • Takes all evening and night patient calls from PHG patients.
  • Available by phone for nursing unit calls, following up with cardiologist as appropriate.
  • Provides in house night call coverage rotating 7 days per week with other APCs on the team.
  • Beginning time for shifts will be determined by the medical director based on operational needs.
  • Rotation through day and night shift may be determined by the team, with final approval by medical director or designee to ensure safety and continuity of care.
  • Interfaces with non-PHG physicians
  • Communicates with the Office Point Guard or the cardiologist on call concerning PHG patients
  • Provides complete and timely dictation on all clinical work. Submits patient billing paperwork, as directed.
  • Facilitates the direct admit of patients transferred from other regions if directed to do so by the cardiologist.
  • Provides a structured sign out report to cardiologist.
  • Completes all patient care tasks assigned and ensures appropriate hand-off before ending shift.
  • Provides periodic midlevel outpatient clinic service.
  • Exhibits excellent communication skills with patients, families, and all healthcare providers and staff.
  • Performs other functions as required.
