Overview

The Program Manager of Enterprise Event Operations primarily works to successfully, efficiently and responsibly support enterprise-wide events at Children’s Mercy. This position serves as the leader for enterprise-wide events and as a centralized resource for annual events. In addition, they oversee reunion and reunion-like activities and provide event planning consultation to all CM events. They ensure enterprise-wide events reflect hospital strategy, culture and branding, are well-organized, use hospital resources responsibly and comply with internal policies. They also work collaboratively with departments across the hospital engaging invested parties in the planning process and serving as a connector of relevant event information. 

 

This hybrid role is generally Monday - Friday (Some morning/evening/weekend work as needed).

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead event planner of VIP enterprise activities that have interdepartmental investment but are not the responsibility of one specific department. (40%) Events include, but are not limited to: groundbreakings, ribbon cuttings, openings, national-figure visits, tragedy-related responses, and CEO retirement celebration.
  • Serve as a centralized resource and for annual cross-departmental events with rotating leadership and events impacting more than 500 employees. (25%) Examples include, but are not limited to: specific profession celebrations such as Nurse’s Week and Research Month; employee-wide activities such as CM Annual Picnic and Holiday Meal, and; ERG events such as Veteran’s Day and Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration.
  • Coordinate the approval process, and provide planning oversight, for patient reunions and non-inpatient educational events. (10%)
  • Provide event planning consultation. (5%)
  • Be a connector and ensure awareness of relevant event details and logistics across the enterprise. (20%)

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and 3-5 years' experience. Related experience includes roles related to customer service, hospitality and project/account management. OR
  • Associate's Degree and 5-7 years' experience. Related experience includes roles related to customer service, hospitality and project/account management. OR
  • High School diploma, or equivalent, and 7 or more years' experience. Related experience includes roles related to customer service, hospitality and project/account management.
  • Valid Driver's License Required Upon Hire
  • BLS, Life Saving CPR, Certification Preferred Upon Hire
