Electrical Engineer Lead
Provides the technical knowledge and is accountable for troubleshooting, planning, coordination, and execution of technical activities needed to support all electrical systems supporting Manufacturing Operations in the Final Product Manufacturing (FPM), API, and site utilities. Supports all the manufacturing process areas and buildings ensuring timely resolution of technical issues, execution of projects, and maintenance guidance and support. Develops technical, Engineering, Manufacturing or electical standards/programs. Meets customer needs in support of business goals.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Electrical Engineer Lead, are to:
- Provide effective leadership including: individual goal setting/performance reviews, managing the development of employees and team members, recognizing and appreciating employee contributions, mitigating conflict and communication problems, planning and facilitating team activities, selecting personnel and motivating members of the functional area; supporting workforce diversity, quality and safety and supporting supervisors in the management of their employees/department which support achievement of individual/department/business objectives;
- Lead electical engineer for the site. Support on off-shift and weekends. Leads cross functional group to resolve off shift site issues, and escalate to senior management;
- Provides key technical input for the definition of concepts for improvement of existing equipment and processes and/or the identification of alternative equipment or installations, and to ensure reliability of electical equipment, facilities and utilities;
- Provides guidance and leadership on back shift and ensures production equipment uptime through preventive or predictive measures as well as modifications and repairs;
- Provides the necessary technical expertise for troubleshooting and resolving problems with all Production Unit, and Utility processes and equipment;
- HES compliance - supports Bayer Berkeley's commitment to safety by complying with the programs regarding health, safety and protection of the environment. The incumbent demonstrates safe work practices and leads safety meetings as needed, provides input to relevant personnel (e.g., operators, supervisors, technicians) regarding safety issues and ensures resolution of non-conforming conditions. Responsible for safety aspects of systems including Plant and Process Safety, HAZOPS, JSAs, and energy control/lock-out tag-out;
- Demonstrates high level of urgency and is able to quickly adapt to changing priorities;
- Provides leadership and guidance to engineers, maintenance and operations technicians and supervisors that directly support production and lab equipment to maximize uptime of manufacturing. Coaches and teaches junior members of the department;
- Collaborates with other engineering department heads (API PCS Engineering and API Utilities and Facilities) for coordinated daily technical operation of the plants by their respective engineering teams;
- Understands detailed technical knowledge and helps to ensure utilties, plant engineering, and production operations team has the specific technical knowledge and training required to perform their functions;
- Collect analyze, identify, and report equipment downtime information and ensure resolution of critical equipment items;
- Coordination of maintenance activities and shutdown requirements for electical systems, production equipment, utilities, and facilities systems;
- Supervise, plan, and organize engineering cross-functional activities on back shift and weekend;
- Understanding of relevant SOPs, Guidelines and Regulatory requirements;
- Makes independent decisions as needed for all areas of engineering when on site, and serves as a consultant to management. <
