Primary Duties (in part)
Due to the nature of this position for training, the required work hours are 8 a.m.– 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, with an hour scheduled for lunch. After training is complete, there may be more schedule flexibility.
Review individuals’ case documents and records to determine if a child support order is needed.
Contact agency customers and other service providers to gather information to assist in establishing paternity and to establish and enforce support orders.
Establish, modify, enforce, and provide accounting records for child support orders by deciding needed action.
Apply federal and state laws, rules, and agency policies and procedures.
Verify payments are properly disbursed.
Verify accuracy of any state agency claims against child support.
Request, review, and evaluate paternity declarations to initiate action. Complete and file legal documents to establish paternity. Process modification requests.
Gather wage and health care information, research and apply child support guidelines to calculate support obligation.
Required Experience

Three (3) years of experience working with the public in person or by phone giving information about services and programs and solving customer problems/complaints. Experience must include the use of personal computers, web-based applications, and typical software such as Microsoft Office.
OR
Bachelor's Degree may substitute for the above experience.
Work experience is based on a 40-hour work week. (Example: 20 hours a week for one year would equal six-months of work experience.)
AND
Finalists must pass a comprehensive employment reference check and fingerprint-based criminal background check. A driver history check will be included for positions requiring state vehicle driving privileges. Adverse findings will be evaluated to determine eligibility for the position.
