Job Summary:

Assist with the delivery of patient care and maintenance of unit environmental standards under the supervision of a licensed nurse.

We are seeking compassionate, patient-focused Care Partners (Nursing Assistants) who are comfortable providing hands-on care and supporting clinical procedures, including venipuncture/blood draws, Foley catheter care, specimen collection, and other bedside patient care responsibilities.

About the Department:

Join the brand-new Acute Surgical Care Stepdown unit coming to 10N, a 31-bed stepdown unit offering a unique opportunity to help build a new team from the ground up. Nurses will provide a stepdown level of care to adult patients either awaiting surgery or recovering post-operatively. The unit features a collaborative, team-oriented atmosphere.

Patient Population Includes:

• Emergency General Surgery (EGS) Patients

• Pre- and Post-Operative Surgical Patients

• Trauma and Med-Surg Overflow

Your Schedule:

• Full-Time Night Shift - 6:45 pm - 7:15 am (three 12-hour shifts/week)
• Shifts rotate throughout the week
• Note: Set schedules are not available.  Schedules are determined by unit clinical staffing needs.
• All Employees (Night shift & PRN included) are required to attend hospital orientation during regular daytime hours during the first week of employment.

What You Need to Qualify:

Required:

• High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience) AND one of the following:

• Current enrollment in a professional nursing RN program with successful completion of the first semester (including nursing fundamentals clinical), or
• Graduation from a Nursing Assistant or Aide Training Program within the past year (certificate of completion required), or
• Minimum of one year of recent experience (within the past two years) as a care partner, nursing assistant, or patient care technician.

Preferred:

• One year of previous experience in a hospital setting
• Flexible availability
• Professionalism and reliability
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• High emotional intelligence
