Vertiv is hiring a Customer Engineer with a background in UPS and critical power systems in Norway. The role will be based out of the Norwegian office and will require regular travel to client sites. Much of the work will be near Skien, but candidates must be willing and able to travel to sites across Norway and throughout the Nordic region when required.
The position is responsible for commissioning, maintenance, component replacement, and emergency repair of Vertiv’s UPS systems and associated critical power infrastructure, as well as other contracted systems. Another important responsibility is providing high-quality technical support to both customers and internal teams.
The role requires building, promoting, and maintaining excellent relationships with customers, sales managers, distributors, and other partners in the field. Ongoing communication with scheduling teams and department management is essential.

JOB SUMMARY
Vertiv is hiring a Customer Engineer with experience in UPS and critical power systems in Norway. The role is office-based in Norway with extensive travel to customer sites.
Responsibilities include installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency repair of UPS systems, battery systems, static transfer switches, and associated power distribution equipment. The role also includes providing technical customer support and internal technical assistance.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Respond professionally to all assigned service calls
• Perform all work safely and in accordance with company safety policies
• Perform work in line with applicable electrical standards, regulations, and best practices
• Support achievement of planned maintenance completion rates of minimum 90%
• Support back-office teams with scheduling, planning, and closing service work orders
• Keep scheduling teams informed about schedule changes and job status
• Submit accurate and timely service documentation and reports
• Report sales opportunities or service leads to the appropriate department
• Follow company quality, environmental, and safety standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001)
• Maintain company vehicle, tools, and test equipment
• Work collaboratively as part of the service team
• Provide technical support on complex technical issues
• Support department managers, sales teams, and contract teams in daily operations
• Attend customer meetings when required
• Ensure compliance with export, import, and supply chain security regulations
QUALIFICATIONS
Preferably 5 years of experience in a technical service environment working with UPS systems, power systems, or similar equipment. The right attitude and personality are also highly valued.
• Electrical trade certificate (Electrician or equivalent)
• Experience working with UPS systems, battery systems, and backup power solutions
• Experience troubleshooting power and control systems
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and system layouts
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Good computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Self-motivated with strong planning, organization, and time management skills
• Valid driver’s license
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Daily travel to customer sites
• Overnight travel within Norway, the Nordics, or Europe when required
• Participation in 24/7 on-call rotation
• Occasional after-hours and weekend work
• Some heavy lifting may be required
• Team-based working environment
