The person in this role will work from the Medtronic facility located in North Haven, CT. 

This role will require <25% of travel to enhance collaboration and ensure successful completion of projects.

In this Senior Principal Process Engineer role, you will lead the advancement of manufacturing technologies that enhance product quality and transform production across the enterprise. You will partner closely with global R&D teams, operating units, and manufacturing sites to define and execute long-term strategies for electromechanical and capital equipment assembly. Leading cross-functional Centers of Excellence, you will establish best-in-class equipment standards, build strong stakeholder relationships, and identify emerging manufacturing technologies through collaboration with internal teams, external partners, and academia. You will drive alignment across the product development lifecycle, maintain a forward-looking manufacturing technology roadmap, and accelerate innovation through rapid feasibility testing and deployment into manufacturing and new product introductions.

CAREERS THAT CHANGE LIVES

  • Provides technical and sustaining engineering support for the Centers of Excellence (COEs) for Electromechanical Assembly and Capital Equipment Assembly.

  • Recommends equipment and process modifications to meet quality standards and improve production efficiencies, manufacturing techniques as well as production yields for existing products.

  • Integrates equipment and material capabilities to meet process module target specifications and technology target specifications.

  • Reviews product development requirements for compatibility with processing methods to determine costs and schedules.

  • Interacts with product design and development personnel to ensure that processes and designs are compatible.

  • May develop and conduct statistical analysis or recommend additions to document work.

  • Leads the innovation, development and/or optimization of new manufacturing technology concepts, processes and procedures for transfer to manufacturing operations.

    • This can include scouting and feasibility work, material selection, process and equipment selection, tooling / fixture and equipment installation and assessment of inputs, outputs and alignment to requirements.

  • Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control and may develop those techniques including the measurement systems.

  • Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.
