A Day in the Life

In this exciting role as a Senior CNC Programmer supporting Midas Rex Disposable tools, you will have responsibility for supporting manufacturing of high-quality components used in medical devices. The Fort Worth facility supports the design, development, and production of drill tools for a variety of Medtronic businesses. 

This role will support development and improvement for grinding CNC programs used in production of class II medical device drill bits.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned: 

  • Responsible for the development of all CNC machining program code. 

  • Review engineering drawings and initiates changes, or recommendations, for manufacturing tools, fixtures, CNC programs, through the change control system. 

  • Provides technical support to engineers to achieve improvements in cycle-time, yield, unit cost, quality, safety and compliance of production and operations processes and products. 

  • Monitors instruments and equipment and collects operating data, including calibration, inspection, testing and repair activities, to assist in making on-line adjustments to instruments, equipment, or products. 

  • Analyzes and resolves malfunctions and deviations of instruments and control systems to identify and resolve problems. 

  • Conducts, analyses and prepares reports using metrics from salvage tracking, trending, reporting and root-cause analyses. 

  • Maintains process designs to optimize process, equipment and facility use while conforming to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). 

  • Completes activities of the change control policy and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) system in accordance with policy. 

  • Work in cross-collaborative teams to execute risk management activities (i.e. pFMEA) 

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience 

Nice to Have (Preferred Qualifications) 

  • Experience with CAM/CAD software, Virtual Grind (VG), VG Pro , Pro/E and Vericut 

  • Direct experience with providing direct machining support such as creating new programs, troubleshooting and/or updating existing programs.
