Intern Research Engineering

The Team:
Throughout this 5 month internship (January - May), you will have the opportunity to tackle the most interesting technical problems in the enterprise software space. You will learn what’s important for many world famous enterprise clients and how Celonis, as a cutting edge SaaS company, is helping our clients solve many interesting and important business challenges across a variety of industries.

You will work alongside colleagues in the US engineering teams up and down the entire technical stack. The main teams include: (1) the CeloAI team, in NY and CA, on using AI technologies to drive impact with intelligent business solutions, knowledge engineering and process mining; (2) the data infrastructure team, in CA and WI, on building scalable data pipelines and efficient query engines for our execution management system; and (3) the frontend team, in CA and LA, for designing, implementing, and optimizing next generation of user experiences for our products.

The Role:
You will work as a Research Engineering intern working with teammates and managers to solve real-world problems and build efficient, user-friendly, and scalable software solutions. You will to quickly adapt to relevant new technologies, tools, methods, and processes used in your work. Your work will contribute directly to Celonis’ EMS software used by our customers. This is your chance to bring your ideas and solutions to the real world while working with cutting edge technologies and world-class engineers (many of which with prior experience from Google, Meta, etc.). This internship will not only offer you a great opportunity to learn and grow, but also offers a dynamic environment full of diverse connections and memorable events.

The work you’ll do:

• Gain in-depth knowledge and understanding of our business and how we succeed across the globe as the leader in Process Mining and Execution Management. 
• Contribute to high-impact engineering projects that will directly drive value for our customers. 
• Leverage your computer science expertise (data structure, algorithms, machine learning, HCI) to build innovative solutions. 

The qualifications you need:

• Currently pursuing a MS/PhD degree in computer science, information science or related fields. 
• Experience in Software Development and coding in a general purpose programming language.
• Excellent communication, engineering, and collaboration skills.
• A good understanding of fundamental concepts in computer science, such as  data structures, algorithms, and machine learning.
