Overview

To develop, install, maintain and support database and system software programs and procedures to provide an efficient, secured and reliable database environment in achieving district priorities.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a computer science or a technology-related field from an accredited institution or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three (3) years of recent experience utilizing SQL programming concepts using SQL languages like PL/SQL (preferred), T-SQL, MySQL, or other SQL based programming language in a large distributed computer environment, including hands-on experience in ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) development for data integration and transformation processes.
  • Two (2) years of development experience with a Business Intelligence application. PowerBI preferred.
  • Two (2) years of K-12 data management experience preferred.

Ability to interpret State Board Rules and School Board policy. Ability to work as part of a team with the staff or other departments. Knowledge of computer hardware operation and architecture (UNIX and Windows server). Knowledge of database management (Oracle or MS/SQL server) and data communication. Knowledge of application programming and system design. Knowledge of distributed processing. Those activities in which detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed accurately, loudly or quickly.90 Hearing Acuity: The ability to perceive speech and other environmental sounds at normal loudness levels.90 Visual Acuity: The power to see at a level which allows reading of numbers and text, operation of equipment, inspection of machines, etc.Note: Will total more than 100 percent as several activities may be performed at one time.WORKING CONDITIONS:Conditions the worker will be subject to in this position.Indoors and Outdoors: The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside. On demand attendance at the district office is required. Currently piloting a hybrid work schedule with some days remote.
